Emanuele Stifano è nato e cresciuto nel Cilento, dopo gli studi da geometra e svariate esperienze lavorative, decide, all’età di 30 anni e senza alcuna formazione, di acquistare un blocco di Marmo di Carrara di 86 quintali in cui realizza un tutto tondo di 2 metri d’altezza. Da qui inizia una nuova vita dedita anima e corpo all’arte scultorea. La sua passione, che esprime con indole pacata e riflessiva, lo porta a perseguire la bellezza di ciò che lo circonda. Una sperimentazione faticosa, appassionata, solitaria di un lavoro compiuto interamente a mano e lo studio dell’anatomia e delle tecniche lo vedono impegnato dal 2006 in poi, con commissioni pubbliche e private. Si esprime con particolare sensibilità nelle opere in marmo di Carrara, materiale prediletto, con cui dà forma a immagini che alzano, come “a levare”, il velo che divide umanità e natura, svelandone l’unità.
Emanuele Stifano was born and raised in Cilento, after studying to be a surveyor and various work experiences, he decided, at the age of 30 and without any training, to buy a block of Carrara marble weighing 86 quintals in which he created a 2-meter-high all-round sculpture. From here he began a new life dedicated body and soul to sculptural art. His passion, which he expresses with a calm and thoughtful nature, leads him to pursue the beauty of what surrounds him. A tiring, passionate, solitary experimentation of a work done entirely by hand and the study of anatomy and techniques have kept him busy since 2006, with public and private commissions. He expresses himself with particular sensitivity in his works in Carrara marble, his favorite material, with which he gives shape to images that lift, as if “removing”, the veil that divides humanity and nature, revealing their unity.
